TICK

I'm afraid the logo will take me another 1 or 2 weeks.

Research say that by the end of this century 90% of the languages will be gone. Feeling traditions are getting less notice and respected I came up with another idea.

The idea:

For the next 3 months ( starting 1st August 2012) we will learn each week a bit of another language and their countries habits. Used to call France my neighbors we learn a bit of french and their culture, tradition, art and this and that. So exited. We all will have so much  fun !

Feel welcome to join. One of my friends joined already.

P.S. I will use google for translation and pronunciation.

Merci et au revoir

Ode on a Grecian Urn - John Keats

Ode On A Grecian Urn

Thou still unravish'd bride of quietness,
Thou foster-child of silence and slow time,
Sylvan historian, who canst thus express
A flowery tale more sweetly than our rhyme:
What leaf-fring'd legend haunts about thy shape
Of deities or mortals, or of both,
In Tempe or the dales of Arcady?
What men or gods are these? What maidens loth?
What mad pursuit? What struggle to escape?
What pipes and timbrels? What wild ecstasy?

Heard melodies are sweet, but those unheard
Are sweeter; therefore, ye soft pipes, play on;
Not to the sensual ear, but, more endear'd,
Pipe to the spirit ditties of no tone:
Fair youth, beneath the trees, thou canst not leave
Thy song, nor ever can those trees be bare;
Bold Lover, never, never canst thou kiss,
Though winning near the goal yet, do not grieve;
She cannot fade, though thou hast not thy bliss,
For ever wilt thou love, and she be fair!

Ah, happy, happy boughs! that cannot shed
Your leaves, nor ever bid the Spring adieu;
And, happy melodist, unwearied,
For ever piping songs for ever new;
More happy love! more happy, happy love!
For ever warm and still to be enjoy'd,
For ever panting, and for ever young;
All breathing human passion far above,
That leaves a heart high-sorrowful and cloy'd,
A burning forehead, and a parching tongue.

Who are these coming to the sacrifice?
To what green altar, O mysterious priest,
Lead'st thou that heifer lowing at the skies,
And all her silken flanks with garlands drest?
What little town by river or sea shore,
Or mountain-built with peaceful citadel,
Is emptied of this folk, this pious morn?
And, little town, thy streets for evermore
Will silent be; and not a soul to tell
Why thou art desolate, can e'er return.

O Attic shape! Fair attitude! with brede
Of marble men and maidens overwrought,
With forest branches and the trodden weed;
Thou, silent form, dost tease us out of thought
As doth eternity: Cold Pastoral!
When old age shall this generation waste,
Thou shalt remain, in midst of other woe
Than ours, a friend to man, to whom thou say'st,
"Beauty is truth, truth beauty,--that is all
Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know."
John Keats

Death Alone - Pablo Neruda

Just beautiful

Death Alone

There are lone cemeteries,
tombs full of soundless bones,
the heart threading a tunnel,
a dark, dark tunnel :
like a wreck we die to the very core,
as if drowning at the heart
or collapsing inwards from skin to soul.

There are corpses,
clammy slabs for feet,
there is death in the bones,
like a pure sound,
a bark without its dog,
out of certain bells, certain tombs
swelling in this humidity like lament or rain.

I see, when alone at times,
coffins under sail
setting out with the pale dead, women in their dead braids,
bakers as white as angels,
thoughtful girls married to notaries,
coffins ascending the vertical river of the dead,
the wine-dark river to its source,
with their sails swollen with the sound of death,
filled with the silent noise of death.

Death is drawn to sound
like a slipper without a foot, a suit without its wearer,
comes to knock with a ring, stoneless and fingerless,
comes to shout without a mouth, a tongue, without a throat.
Nevertheless its footsteps sound
and its clothes echo, hushed like a tree.

I do not know, I am ignorant, I hardly see
but it seems to me that its song has the colour of wet violets,
violets well used to the earth,
since the face of death is green,
and the gaze of death green
with the etched moisture of a violet's leaf
and its grave colour of exasperated winter.

But death goes about the earth also, riding a broom
lapping the ground in search of the dead -
death is in the broom,
it is the tongue of death looking for the dead,
the needle of death looking for the thread.

Death lies in our beds :
in the lazy mattresses, the black blankets,
lives a full stretch and then suddenly blows,
blows sound unknown filling out the sheets
and there are beds sailing into a harbour
where death is waiting, dressed as an admiral.

Finalizing colors?

It's been a while...

...since I started to find the right color. Working hard to find not only the right color as well the right shade. My next move will be finding the right background so i can mix and match the colors. Everything should be welcoming, warm but minimalistic.

Background next. Should be easier as I know already how it should look like.
Hint: Childhood memories, white and a pattern.
More? Tomorrow

Greetings from sunny Cronulla

Image Inspiration

Nostalgic moments, no sleep and the adventure to find THE right color pallet

Sitting with a huge cup of green tea at 3.30 am here at my friends place and can't make up my mind. There is no end in sight tonight. My journey continues to find THE color/'s.

Seems easy? Not for me. It should be a color scheme where people feel welcome and I can look at it each day.

I had some nostalgic moments the last couple of days and went through some of my million photos and friends paintings. I knew the main color, though my heart and mind still swirls around purple as it's a royal and my favorite color. I also went through color pallets from www.colourlovers.com, vintage color schemes and global labels like Google and Asprey.

The next couple of days I will go through each image and pick the main colors and make a chart out of them. Color is very important to me because it says a lot about your emotions and likes. I am looking for warm and soft colors with 1 vibrant green / purple as these will be used for the logo, buttons and titles.

Good night and stay safe

Color wheel

Getting closer to finalize colors and shades

Green, blue and white are the colors I have chosen. Finally ! All should be in warm and soft colors with a tint of vibrant green for logo and buttons. A mix between vintage and modern patterns.

Tomorrow I will spoil you with a special treat of another 3 great inspirations videos to me and maybe for you.

Colors and shades

Green, grey, white and blue or purple that is today's question?

A simple question like that can be so difficult to find out. I used www.colorhunter.com the whole day yesterday. What for a great site to find out your colors scheme with just uploading images that you like.  I love green and purple/blue but now finding the right shades is on today's list. Just defining green to highlighting this blog took me a while. And yeah, telling my sister how important this site is not only for me. This will be the biggest obstacle for today.

Thanks to Chris Sacca from Lowercase Capital for his inspiring website: http://lowercasecapital.com/. He is always such a great inspiration and I truly love his mixture between vintage and modern at his website. I even like orange!

Another special thanks today are for Cole Webley who I found coincidentally on Twitter. For the lost, but not forgotten. Enjoy and have an amazing day :)

First inspiration Jack Dorsey and Kevin Rose

Welcome to my first inspiration to create a helpful website for people who lost a loved one

My first entry is devoted to:
Jack Dorsey
He is an American web developer and businessman widely known as the creator of Twitter and as the founder and CEO of Square, a mobile payments company  )

and to
Kevin Rose

He is an American Internet entrepreneur who co-founded Revision3, Digg, Pownce, and Milk. He is currently a venture partner at Google).

How to start an idea when there is a blank page?

Kevin's interview with the insightful Jack made me realize that I have to bring my idea to reality NOW. Here we go. Created a Twitter and Blog account which let you know what are the daily up and downs, progressions and inspirations to create a new start up company are.

Thanks for dropping by and let's see if I find the color scheme today. Not as easy as it sounds.

Enjoy the video and get inspired !

Have a lovely day :)
